Dear Fellow Parishioners:
In times of apparent discord, where some in society are espousing division and hate, the role of our Church— Christ Church has never been more important. Jesus reminds us of our common humanity and calls upon us to embrace one another and our community with love and forgiveness. When voices in society espouse fear, anger and retreat, Christ calls us to love, forgive and engage with hope for the world. The community of Christ Church is committed to this mission in our region, nation and world—actively Building our Capacity to Love.
As we begin the 2018 Stewardship campaign we invite you to now to reflect on your pledge commitment and ask you to give as generously as possible. We have enclosed campaign materials for your review and a pledge card. You can make your pledge online, drop your pledge envelope in the collection basket at worship services, or send it to the office.
It is incumbent upon us to provide the financial support for our spiritual home. This year’s stewardship campaign will be short, again just six weeks, launching at the October 1st services and culminating with our All Saints champagne brunch after the 10:00 am service on November 5th.
Bishop Marianne Budde reminded us during her September 10th visit, that the local church is the hope of the world. We seek to be that hope at Christ Church. Christ has no body here but ours and ours are the hands with which Christ works. In so many ways, we are engaged with our community and the world. Please help us sustain Christ Church with your pledge of financial support.
With thanks and appreciation,
Brad and Shannon

If you are receiving this request, you probably feel a special connection to Christ Church. It nurtures your soul! It brings you peace! You feel the love of an open, caring community! You look to Christ Church to teach our children how God wants us to live. You cherish that as a community we reach out to serve our homeless and hungry neighbors, underprivileged school children in Wheaton, victims of natural disasters a thousand miles away, and orphans half way around the world. Together, we are the hands and feet of Jesus trying to create the reign of God here on earth. In so many ways, we are building our capacity to love!
This year we are building on our joy – we are building our capacity to love! You can see and feel that love marching in the Kensington Labor Day Parade, you can feel it when you meet members of the parish at the store or on the street, and especially when we come together in worship.
Once a year we ask you to prayerfully consider your pledge of support to our parish. It’s far more than keeping the lights on, the building in good repair, the staff paid and the parking lot clear of snow. It’s about your part as a member of our spiritual community.
During this time, we encourage each of you to examine all the gifts with which God has endowed you and consider how you may give back from that bounty. Your support is the lifeblood of our parish. Your pledge, whether large or small, allows Christ Church to establish a budget that reflects our community’s commitment to live into Jesus’ teachings, and builds our capacity to love.
We believe that our church deserves our support, and we hope you feel the same.
